Threading is an ancient Indian method of hair removal used mainly on the eyebrows and upper lip. An aesthetician uses a double strand of cotton thread to twist around the unwanted hairs. The hair is then pulled out directly from the follicle creating a very clean and precise hairline. Eyebrow threading is the technique preferred by Indian movie stars, who are often distinguished by their crisp brow lines. On average eyebrow threading takes about 5 to 10 minutes, while tweezing takes about 20 minutes.
